Police are investigating a series of suspicious fires in Coonabarabran that started on 20 September.
The first suspicious fire took place on 20 September at 4:38pm along Deanne Street. The grass fire was extinguished by 5:13pm that day.
On 21 September two further fires broke out that police are still investigating.
First, there was a house fire around 3:19am along the Newell Highway, 150 meters past the Shell gas station. Fire services extinguished the blaze by 05:48am.
Later that morning at 9:09am another fire was reported along John Street. Firefighters completed their duty at that scene by 9:51am.
On 24 September, there were another two suspicious fires on Field Street/Deanne Street and Gordon Street.
Shortly before noon, a grass fire around 700 square meters in size was reported along Field and Deanne Street. It took around two and a half hours for the flames to be extinguished.
Later that evening a reignition of the earlier grass fire was reported along Gordon Street and was extinguished 40 minutes later.
On the 25 September, there was another grass fire near Field Street shortly before 3pm.
A spokesperson for the Orana Mid Western Police District said they are still investigating the fires all of which they have deemed suspicious.
Police are asking anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the area to reach out to the Coonabarabran police station.
