Around 7:15pm on Saturday 28 December police officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District and Operational Support Group operatives from Central North Police District executed a search warrant at a property in Ross Street, Coonamble.
A 19-year old man, who is subject to a prohibition order, was alleged to be in possession of a firearm.
Police allege they also found ammunition, a flick-style knife and cannabis.
The man was arrested and taken to Coonamble Police Station where he was charged with acquiring ammunition contrary to his firearms prohibition order, possession of ammunition without holding licence, and possession of a prohibited drug.
The same address in Ross Street, Coonamble was subject to a tactical police raid on Wednesday 20 November, which saw heavily armed police arrest an 18-year-old wanted over an alleged break and enter in Arthur Street between 22 and 31 October.
On this occasion, the man was refused bail and appeared via audio-visual link before Parramatta Local Court on Sunday 29 December.
He was then granted conditional bail and will appear before Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 21 January 2025.
