AUSTRALIAN agricultural service Quality Wool, which has had a local store in Gulargambone, is celebrating 30 years of operation in true country style - its own brand of beer.
The family-owned wool broker, founded on 1 March 1991, has commissioned Adelaide beer company Pirate Life Brewing to create 'Q Draught' which will be distributed to clients throughout NSW, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia in a year-long anniversary roadshow.
Quality Wool founder and Managing Director Mark Dyson said the company had humble origins and he was looking forward to celebrating with the people who brought them to where they are today.
"We'll be rocking up at football and netball matches, at men's sheds and getting together at wool stores in the bush," Mr Dyson said.
"We've got an extremely loyal client base, so this is a great way to thank them. All the folks in the bush love a beer."
Quality now has many wool stores across NSW, including one in Gulargambone set up more than three years ago by local former shearing contractor Willy Redington.
Mr Redington said he has been with the company for about six years and services clients near and far, including Central Queensland.
His clients from Dubbo to Lightning Ridge deliver about 3000 bales of wool a year into the national auction houses.
"I think for a privately owned Australian company to achieve what they have in 30 years - going from five people to over 80 employees and covering four states of Australia - is pretty amazing," Mr Redington said.
"It shows the dedication and professional approach within the company - I'm so glad to see the improvement of the wool over time and how local wool production has rebounded since the drought.
"I think wool growers are now much more professional and actually aware of the quality of their product - I'm looking forward to having Quality Wool come through the area and share its unique beer with local clients."
A spokesperson from Quality Wool said as they were still planning the logistical rollout of its anniversary roadshow, they couldn't announce exactly when they would be in the Coonamble area.
At the same time, they said the company was committed to hitting all their key regions when possible before the end of the year to thank locals for their support.
