Police have made another call for help as an investigation continues into the discovery of a body in a burnt-out SUV near Brewarrina last month.

A police spokesperson said that officers executed two crime scene warrants at separate premises located in Brewarrina's Barwon Four Reserve on Thursday 16 October.

They said they seized a number of unnamed items, which will be subject to further examination.

“We have identified the deceased person and notified their next-of-kin, but we are appealing to the public to come forward if they have information which could be relevant to this investigation," Detective Inspector Andrew Barnes said.

"Anyone with information they believe can assist police is urged to contact Bourke Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

Det Inspector Barnes, who is also Crime Manager for Central North Police District, said the death is being treated as suspicious due to circumstances surrounding the discovery.
