Hospitality venues have been the focus of a burst of break-ins that have happened across the Western Plains in the past week, largely in Walgett and Coonamble.
A break-in that occurred at a service station on Fox Street in Walgett on Sunday, 2 January, saw a number of stolen goods stolen.
Since the original break-in, the store has been hit twice more in the span of a week, each time with a number of items stolen, including food and cigarettes.
Officers attached to the Central North Police District have commenced an investigation and are appealing for public information.
The inquiries will also include a break in that occurred on Monday, 10 January, at a Walgett sporting club, where two people forced entry, stole a number of items, and smashed a vending machine before fleeing.

A crime scene was established at the time and forensically examined.
As investigations continue, police would like to speak with two people who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The first person is shown wearing a red hooded jumper, black jacket and pants, black gloves and carrying a black backpack.
The second person is shown wearing a grey hooded jumper, black jacket, green camouflage pants, and carrying a black backpack.
Investigators urge any witnesses, any motorists who may have dash-cam vision or anyone with information to contact Walgett Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Not far away, the Terminus Hotel in Coonamble saw similar behaviour in the early hours of Monday, 10 January.
The hotel’s alarms sounded at 2am, when the perpetrators smashed both windows and doors as they forced their entry, and broke door locks.

According to management, an amount of cash and alcohol was stolen from the premises.
Investigations by officers attached to the Orana Mid-Western Police District are ongoing.
