Heavily armed police arrested a man in Coonamble yesterday afternoon following a break-in where firearms were stolen.
Police said they attended a home in Ross Street at around 3:15pm on 20 November, where they found an 18-year-old wanted over an alleged break and enter in Coonamble's Arthur Street between 22 and 21 October, where "personal items" were also stolen.
Officers were seen in tactical response gear as a section of the street was closed around the house.
Witnesses said police used a megaphone to tell the man to come out.
The 18-year-old surrendered himself to police and had blood on his face when led to a paddy wagon at around 5:30pm.
Dozens of spectators on the street began to disperse and the street was soon reopened to traffic.

"Police seized a number of firearms during a search of the property," a police spokesperson told the Western Plains App.
"It was a little bit of excitement for the afternoon," one street resident said.
The man was taken to Coonamble Police Station and charged with break and enter and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today.
