Teen arrested after three cars stolen in Bre

A 15-year-old boy has been charged after three Toyota Hiluxs were allegedly stolen in Brewarrina on Monday.

 

The cars were allegedly stolen form a business on Dooral Street just after 3am on 10 June.


 

The next day around 9:30am, one of the vehicles was found burned out on a riverbank off the Kamilaroi Highway in Brewarrina.

 

"Following inquiries, about 4pm on Tuesday (11 June 2024), a 15-year-old boy attended Brewarrina Police Station," a police spokesperson said.

 

"A second Hilux was later located about 9:10pm the same day in bushland off Charlton Road, Brewarrina."

 

"The teenager was arrested and charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence-in company-steal>60,000."

 

He was given conditional bail and will appear at a Children’s Court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.

 

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
