Thanking Show volunteersShow vice president Rodney Robb with life member and former president Elaine McLaughlin

NYNGAN Show Society hosted a dinner at the Bogan Bulls Clubhouse last Friday night to thank the many volunteers who contributed their time and effort to making the show in May so successful.

Nyngan Show runs over two days every May, and has an army of volunteers, many of whom have notched up many decades of service.

Outgoing president Rodney Robb said it was important to recognise the contribution made by volunteers and it was decided to have a dinner.

Mr Robb said the volunteers were so busy at the show that it was difficult for them to mix with each other.

"We decided to wait a few months to have the dinner so we could all get together and not talk shop. The dinner was free of charge and just a good chance for people to gather together. Covid-19 put a stop to a lot of that and its good to be able to do these things."

Despite widespread flooding, around 50 section stewards, helpers and committee members were able to attend.

The Nyngan Show Society has elected a new executive. Michael Kennedy has stepped up as president, whilst Rodney Robb is now senior vice president and Katie Atherton was elected junior vice president.

Kathy Korn remains as the show secretary.
