There are two alerts current around Bourke and Brewarrina from Transport for NSW.
Changed traffic conditions at a number of locations along the Mitchell Highway, north of Bourke, got underway from Wednesday 29 March.
Bourke Shire Council will deliver the work which will include resealing the road surface.
Work will be carried out at the following locations:
· 1.5 kilometres north of Bourke for about 485 metres.
· 14 kilometres north of Bourke for about one kilometre.
· 68 kilometres north of Bourke for about three kilometres.
Work hours will be 7am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and work is expected to take about one week to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic control including single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours. Outside of work hours, both lanes will be open and revert to the posted speed limit
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Kamilaroi Highway beginning from Saturday 1 April.
Brewarrina Shire Council is carrying out the work about 40 kilometres west of Brewarrina, including shoulder widening, culvert work and sealing the road surface.
Work will be carried out between 6am and 6pm on Saturday 1 April and Sunday 2 April.
From Monday 3 April, work will continue between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. Work is expected to take up to four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures, alternating stop/slow and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place during work hours. Motorists should allow up to five minutes of extra travel time.
Both lanes will be open outside of work hours and revert to the posted speed limit.
