A truck driver is in Canberra Hospital following a collision with a tractor yesterday afternoon, Monday 12 May.

The serious accident happened near Gainsborough Road between Tomingley and Narromine.

It is understood the male driver was airlifted to Canberra.

A man in his 40’s, the driver was trapped in his truck while emergency services worked to treat and release him.

Toll Helicopter Rescue from Orange landed near the scene and transported the truck who was in a serious condition.

The tractor driver was not injured.

Road was closed between Narromine and Tomingley for about 3 hours, traffic diverted to Peak Hill Railway Road.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
