UPDATE: Teens linked to multiple regional break-ins now before the courtsTwo teenaged boys are currently before the courts charged with multiple offences committed in regional NSW, including in Narromine and Trangie.

UPDATE:

Two teenage boys have appeared before a childrens court yesterday, over a spate of break-ins - among other offences - throughout the Western Region, including service stations in Narromine and Trangie.


Officers attached to Central West and Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation after a number of homes and business’ were allegedly broken into throughout the western region between Friday 28 January 2022 and yesterday (Tuesday 8 February 2022).


Following inquiries, officers attended a home in Orange about 2.50pm yesterday and arrested two boys – aged 16 and 17 – who were taken to Orange Police Station.


The 17-year-old boy was charged with:


  • aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal (x9)


  • police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly (x2)


  • dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception (x2)


  • larceny value (x2)


  • be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner (x2)


  • robbery armed with offensive weapon


  • drive motor vehicle menaces another with intent, and


  • aggravated enter dwelling in company intent to steal.


The 17-year-old was also charged with 14 outstanding warrants in relation to domestic violence, assault, robbery, property crime and malicious damage.


Meanwhile, the 16-year-old boy was charged with:


  • aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal (x7)


  • be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner (x2)


  • dishonestly obtain property by deception (x1)


  • larceny value (x2)


  • damage property by fire


  • aggravated enter dwelling in company intent to steal, and


  • steal motor vehicle.


Both teens were refused bail and appeared a children’s court yesterday (Wednesday 9 February).


As investigations continue, including the search for three other males believed to have been involved in the break-ins, police are appealing for anyone with more information, including dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to contact local police or CrimeStoppers.


ORIGINAL STORY:

Police investigators are appealing for public assistance after five people were involved in a number of robberies throughout regional NSW, including two Narromine shire service stations, earlier today (Tuesday 8 February).


At about 3.50am, five unknown persons forced entry into a service station on Narromine Street, Trangie, stealing cash and cigarettes.


Shortly after, police attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were responding to the Trangie incident when they received reports that another service station at the intersection of Dandaloo Street and the Mitchell Highway, Narromine, was broken into, with a large number of cigarettes stolen.


At about 4.40am, police responded to calls that a business on Macquarie Street, Dubbo was also broken into with shoes and clothing stolen.


Officers attached to Central West Police District were patrolling Orange where they attempted to stop a Mazda on the Northern Distributor Road, about 6am.


After it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated before it was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.


The Mazda was located about 6.20am well alight in Paul Park on Burrendong Way, Orange.


It is believed the group drove a red Mazda allegedly stolen from an address in Orange earlier this morning.


Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western have established crime scenes at all locations and commenced an investigation. They have now released a description of the group they believe can assist with inquiries.


The first male is described as being of thin build wearing a black hoodie and trackpants, a baseball cap, red joggers and a mask.


The second male is described as being of thin build wearing a black hoodie, trackpants and joggers.


The third male is described as being of thin build wearing black hoodie, tracksuit pants and grey joggers.


The fourth person, a female, is described as being of a large build wearing a black hoodie and grey trackpants.


The fifth person, a female, is described as being of thin build, wearing a white and black hoodie with grey trackpants and black sandals.
