WEATHER ALERT: hail and high windsPut your cars under cover and batten down.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued an alert with isolated severe thunderstorms developing in a number of inland areas from 6:09 pm this evening (Friday 11 November 2022).

The alert applies to a number of forecast districts and includes communities like Wanaaring, Carinda, Quambone, Coonamble, Nyngan and Condobolin.

The Bureau has advised that cool air aloft has combined with a surface trough to trigger thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours with the alert valid until 9:15pm.
