The Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew has been busy in the Western Plains with two critical incidents this week.
Yesterday (Wednesday 15 October) at around 11am, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a person suffering a cardiac arrest at Collarenebri, north of Walgett.
A woman in her 20s was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being transported to John Hunter Hospital.

On Monday 13 October at around 6.40 pm, NSW Ambulance sent the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Baradine.
A man in his 30s was treated at the scene by the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team after a medical episode.
He was transported to a Sydney Hospital in a critical condition.
It’s the second incident in a few weeks a passenger winched after breaking an ankle at Warrumbungle National Park.
A paramedic was praised for staying with the patient overnight before being airlifted to safety.
