Wild winds across western NSW from Bathurst to Trangie caused widespread black outs across the area yesterday evening Wednesday 8 October.
At least 1,126 residents in Trangie and Narromine were affected when a power pole was torn down last night
''Essential Energy crews responded quickly to an unplanned power outage in Narromine late yesterday," a spokesperson said.
Â
"Electricity network protection equipment operated automatically, switching power off to around 1,100 homes and business for safety at 5.50pm on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.
Â
"On arrival, crews identified the cause of the outage to be a fallen tree branch contacting the electricity network in Fifth Avenue.
Â
"Crews worked to remove the debris from the network and after ensuring it was safe to do so, power was progressively restored for all customers by 7.45pm.
Â
"Essential Energy thanks the community for its patience while our teams worked to restore power and reminds customers to stay at least eight metres away from fallen powerlines or damaged electricity equipment and immediately call 13 20 80 or call Triple-0 if the situation is life threatening. ''

In the middle of the Narromine Council meeting October 8 the lights went out and a recording of audio of the session was interrupted and nothing could be done to re-install it.
