Woman airlifted from Walgett on Boxing DayWestpac Rescue Helicopter has been busy with retrievals this holiday season.

A woman in her 20s was airlifted from Walgett by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter yesterday (Boxing Day 26 December 2022) following a motorcycle accident in the early hours of the morning.


The woman was riding as a pillion passenger on the motorbike just after midnight when it hit a stump.


NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Duff Street in Walgett at around 12.20am but the patient travelled to Walgett Hospital in a private vehicle.


NSW Ambulance Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team treated and stabilised the woman.


She suffered serious leg injuries and was airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
