A Coonamble woman was handed a 10-month prison stay on 23 October for an unprovoked attack against an 81-year-old on a mobility scooter earlier this year.
Forty-eight-year-old Belinda Mcbride was filmed on CCTV laying on a table at MacDonald Park on 21 September when the elderly woman rode past her from Coonamble Bowling Club on her way to IGA sometime between 12:30pm and 12:45pm.
According to a police fact sheet, the victim had stopped to watch for traffic when Mcbride got up from the table, ran towards her and punched the right side of her face.
"The victim, in shock, has looked around and saw the accused to be walking away from the location," the fact sheet said.
The assault left the woman bleeding and was captured on CCTV.
Community members also witnessed the attack and came to her aid.
"I don't even know that woman, I can't believe this has happened," the victim said.

Police were called and between around 2:30pm and 2:40pm arrested Mcbride at a Wilga Street home.
McBride admitted to the assault and, according to the fact sheet, did it because "she just didn't like her because she was annoying her by driving past 'all the time.'"
She was taken to Coonamble Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Magistrate Te'res Sia sentenced her at Coonamble Local Court.
