ANZAC Day services are back on track in Baradine with the 2021 event to be held as usual.
Following approval and an announcement from the NSW Returned Services League (RSL) of Australia, it is permissible for RSL NSW sub-branches to organise a controlled outdoor event on 25 April.
The Baradine RSL sub-branch has announced that they are already planning their 2021 event.
“ANZAC Day commemorations will include the dawn service in Gwabegar followed by the mid-morning march to the war memorial followed by a service at Baradine Memorial Hall,” said Barry Gardner, Baradine RSL sub-branch president.
“This will once again enable local residents to show their support.

“The programme is much the same as in previous years, except that it will be carefully planned to make it COVID safe for veterans and members of the public.”
Last year’s commemorative events were cancelled due to Covid pandemic restrictions.
Instead, many shire residents marked the day of remembrance by standing in their driveways or at farm gates for a dawn tribute with a difference.
“ANZAC Day is a symbolic day for all Australians and it will be good to return to normal and gather together to reflect on the sacrifices made by all those who served,” added Mr Gardner.
“As in past years, local schools will continue to play a key role in our formal commemoration services and also participate in the annual ANZAC Day Awards.”
Acting Minister for Veterans, Geoff Lee has said he wants to ensure veterans and their families are honoured while keeping their health and wellbeing the top priority.
“The NSW Government and RSL NSW have been working together to ensure ANZAC Day commemorations can proceed in a COVID-safe way in communities across our State.
“This respect for veterans and their families has never faltered, even at the height of a pandemic.
“We know NSW communities will continue to show their admiration in 2021.”
