Body found believed to be missing Tottenham woman

On Sunday evening 11 December NSW Police advised that a body has been located near Federal Falls in the Mount Conabolas State Recreation Area.

It is believed to be Tottenham resident Esther Wallace but is yet to be formally identified.

The 47-year-old woman was last seen at Federal Falls at the Mount Canobolas State Recreation Area, approximately 20km south-west of Orange on Wednesday 30 November 2022.

She was reported missing to officers from the Central West Police District who coordinated a multi-agency search to locate her.

Officers were supported by the Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, PolAir, the Dog Unit, Chifley Rural Crime Investigators, police from neighbouring Districts and Western Region staff as well as the Bush Search and Rescue (BSAR) operators attached to the NSW State Emergency Services, NSW RFS, Cabonne Council, NSW Parks and Wildlife Service, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Forestry NSW and volunteers.

Following an extensive land and air search of the surrounding areas, a body was located just before 4pm on Sunday 11 December 2022, approximately 2km from where the woman was last seen.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
