A break and enter in Bourke has led to two teens facing court in the coming week.
About 5am on Tuesday 30 October, entry was forced into a home on Bourke’s Anson Street, where multiple bottles of paint were stolen.
Despite being home at the time, the occupants were not injured.
Central North Police District officers investigated the incident, and yesterday (Wednesday 31 October) attended a Bourke home and arrested a 15-year-old boy.
About 4:30pm the same day, police executed a search warrant at another Bourke home, arresting a 16-year-old boy.
Both were taken to Bourke Police Station, where the 15-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, and possess housebreaking implements.
The 16-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was given conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday 5 February 2024.
The 15-year-old boy was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Thursday 1 February 2024).
