A car towing a caravan has crashed on the Castlereagh Highway around halfway between Walgett and Lightning Ridge, near the Strathmore Road intersection.

The accident happened at around 1:35pm today, Monday 3 June.

Emergency services were called to the site.

Motorists are being advised to reduce their speed and allow extra travel time.

Traffic flow at the scene is being managed by Transport NSW to allow motorists to pass in both directions according to Live Traffic NSW .
