Coonamble Jockey Club secretary Ana Robson says Thursday's much needed rain was good for farmers but the racetrack was affected.
Racing NSW stewards inspected the track early Saturday morning and made the decision to cancel at 6.30am.
''Stewards looked at the track and have called the meeting off, '' she said.
''Stewards conducted a track inspection following 34mm of rain Thursday and have deemed the surface unsuitable for racing after having identified sections of concern in the home straight and past the winning post.
"Therefore the meeting has been postponed.''
Ana says the meeting is unlikely to be re-staged but the committee is looking forward to the NSW Country Championships on Sunday March 15.
''That will be exciting for the club and our Annual General Meeting is on Thursday December 18.''
