Dubbo too good in Sunday's Brewery Shield Grand Final. [IMAGE: Glenn Shepherd]A big hitting 68 off 33 balls by captain Khurrara Tari has powered Dubbo to a 5 wicket win in the Brewery Shield final over a gallant Gilgandra at McGrane Oval on Sunday 7 December.
Captain Tari plundered four big sixes and eight 4s before his opposing skipper Ash Hazelton stumped him off the bowling of Tyne Champan.
But by then the damage was done, Dubbo were racing ahead of Gilgandra’s total making it 22 overs.
Dubbo were chasing 117 and Gil’s Jonanath Kilby made them work for it earlier grabbing 3 wickets but in the end the visitors had too much firepower.
Abuzur Nawaz scored the winning runs remaining unbeaten on 11.
Asher Azam's opening 22 got Dubbo off to the beginning they needed.
Gilgandra were sent into bat in ideal conditions and lost key high order batsman Ash Hazelton for 3 pushing a catch to Lochlan George off Khurram Tari.
Nick Willoughby could only make 5 before Ali Muntaz bowled him.

Opener Lachlan Ferguson played a steady hand for 42 off 116 balls but players fell around him.
Brandon Hammond did score 16 off 48 and Cameron Whittall struck 10 in an attempt to dominate but it was not enough.
Shield Secretary Glenn Shepherd congratulated Dubbo.
“A big reversal of form from Dubbo on a slow wicket," he said. "Gil tried hard but it was not their day.’’
