Flooding across the state's central west has thrown rail networks into chaos with many freight and transport rail lines closed or under repair.
The Australian Rail Track Corporation Network (ARTC) released a statement earlier this week regarding current rail line closures within our region.
Flood waters continue to rise in the Condobolin area, causing several wash ways occurring over last weekend.
The Broken Hill line remains closed due to flooding.
Lachlan River levels are expected to re- peak in late- November, and current forecasts indicate major flooding will continue into December and ongoing flooding events continue to see water levels rising.
The Wyangala Dam is currently spilling 230,000 megalitres a day, with significant amounts of this water flooding into the Lachlan River.
The ARTC also said that track inspection and repairs will likely not commence until flood waters decrease.
"Track inspection and repairs can only commence once water levels in the rail corridor recede significantly, and the duration of repairs will be dependent on the damage sustained".
Transport New South Wales have also released that the Dubbo to Coonamble line is open with no restrictions.
The Narromine to Cobar line is open with no restrictions.
The Nevertire to Warren line is impacted on the Auscott to Warren South track only. Water is still present in the immediate area and re-opening is dependent on the decline of water levels at this location.
The Bogan Gate to Tottenham line between Tullamore to Tottenham is closed until repair work is completed.
