A fire burning on Narran Lake Road in Cumborah is expected to be contained today.
All going well, today could be the last day's attendance for an out-of-area crew attending the fire, according to a spokesperson for the Rural Fire Service (RFS).Â
Temperatures in Cumborah dropped slightly from low 40s late last week to the mid-30s today.
Â
The fire started last Tuesday and grew over the weekend from below 3,000 hectares to over 4,000 hectares at its peak.
Â
Around 60 local and out-of-area crew from the Orana, Lower North Coast, and the mid-coast area have been working to get the blaze under control through backburning, widening fire breaks, and dropping retardant lines.Â

The RFS expects the fire to be contained early this week.Â
Â
"There is still a fair bit of work ahead of them, even after it is contained," an RFS spokesperson said.Â
Â
Firefighters will continue to patrol after the blaze is contained to make sure that it is fully extinguished.
Â
There is currently no threat to properties or homes, although the situation continues to be monitored closely.
