Five people have been charged after an alleged assault with a machete in Coonamble on 28 October.
The 40-year-old male victim sustained a serious laceration on his arm following a verbal altercation at a home on Bertram Street around 2pm.
That same day around 9pm police arrested a 30-year-old man on Limerick Street. He was charged with causing reckless grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court on 29 October where he was again refused bail. He will appear before the local court in Coonamble on 19 November.
On 30 October, four further people related to the incident were arrested and charged.
A 31-year-old woman was charged with entering a dwelling with intention and affray. She was granted conditional bail and will appear before Coonamble Local Court on 19 November.
A 28-year-old woman was charged with the same offense. She was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court on 31 October.
A 25-year-old man was charged with affray. He was granted conditional bail and will appear before Coonamble Local Court on 17 December.
A 27-year-old woman was charged with entering enclosed land not prescribed premises without a lawful excuse. She was also granted conditional bail to appear before Coonamble Local Court on 17 December.
The victim was flown to the Royal North Shore Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
