Authorities have warned if you are in the Glengarry and Grawin areas and your plan is to leave, or you are not prepared, leave now towards Lightning Ridge. Leaving early is your safest option.

The Hudson Fire is burning in the Narran Lake Nature Reserve to the east of Narran Park Amaroo Rd and to the west of the Glengarry village.

Despite easing last night, fire activity has increased and the fire has crossed the eastern containment line to the south west of the Glengarry Village.

Almost 15,000 hectares have burned in the fire. (Fires Near Me)

It continues to burn in an east and north easterly direction towards the Morendah Plains and the Glengarry Village, potentially impacting properties in the Glengarry and Grawin area.

Authorities have warned that members may be blown ahead of the main fire front. These may start spot fires which may threaten your home earlier than the main fire front.

Firefighters and water bombing aircraft are continuing to work in the area on the fifth day of the fire.

Glengarry locals are being evacuated, with authorities saying they must go to Lightning Ridge if they aren’t prepared.

A bush fire information point will be established today, 15 November 2023, to provide community members with information on the Hudson Fire.

Pending safety, the information point will be at the Glengarry Hilton, Grawin, Opal Field Road from 5pm this afternoon.

A total fire ban has been declared tomorrow for Bogan, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Warren, Walgett and Warrumbungle shires.
