Heat closes walking tracks

Due to the extreme weather conditions, National Parks NSW will close access to visitors in the Pilliga Forest.


With temperatures forecast to hit 40 degrees tomorrow, all visitor areas in the Pilliga Forest will be closed from 4pm today until 9am on Thursday.



Those areas include:

    • Sandstone Caves walking track
    • Sculptures in the Scrub visitor area, walking track, picnic and camping area
    • Salt Caves visitor area, picnic and camping area
    • Pilliga Forest Visitor Lookout Tower

 

This closure includes all walking tracks, visitor picnic facilities and campgrounds.
