Hot off the press: Nyngan Hotel sells best beerJames and Emily Stanton celebrate AHA Award

The Nyngan Hotel has jointly taken out the Australian Hotels Association NSW Award for excellence for Best Draught Beer Quality with Lake George Hotel Bungendore, and The Nyngan hotel owners James and Emily Stanton could not be prouder.

Recognised as the most prestigious awards in the Hospitality Industry, the awards honour the achievement of excellence in NSW hotels across a variety of categories including accommodation, dining, entertainment, marketing, social media, community service and talented employees.

The Nyngan was the only hotel from western NSW to be named as a finalist.

Mr and Mrs Stanton who attended the awards ceremony yesterday at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, said they were totally surprised when their name was called out, with 14 other hotels vying for the title.

"We are beyond proud to announce that The Nyngan Hotel has officially won the 2025 AHA NSW Award for Excellence - Best Draught Beer Quality," said Emily Stanton.

"This award recognises venues that deliver the best beer experience in the state - judged on everything from beer freshness, cellar management and glass cleanliness, to perfect pouring technique and presentation.

"To take out this title, our systems and staff went through rigorous inspections - including anonymous mystery shopper style testing and back-of-house assessments of our keg room, coll room, beer lines, and cellar management.

"This award is a credit to our incredible team and to Krista our manager, whose pride in every detail sets the standard.

"Behind the scenes, we are constantly working to ensure our beer system is spotless, perfectly chilled and running like clockwork every single day.

"We are now also eligible for the AHA National Awards, representing NSW on the national stage.

"Thank you to our amazing community and customers for supporting us - here's to cold, clean, quality beer right here at The Nyngan," said Mrs Stanton.

Bogan Shire Mayor Glen Neill, says it is a credit to the Stanton family and their hardworking staff to be recognised at such a high level.

"This is great news for the Stanton family and for our local community," said Councillor Neill.

"The hard work and dedication, to not only their business but their generosity to community has not gone unnoticed and is a credit to them and a real pat on the back to receive this award.

"The Nyngan has been a great venture that is attracting many visitors to our town which can only be a great benefit to our community," said Councillor Neill.
