Man arrested over Bourke break ins

A man will face court following an investigation into multiple break and enters in Bourke over the weekend.

 

Police say a man tried to enter several rooms at a motel on Mertin Street at about 2am on Sunday 18 August 2024 before he entered two rooms and stole a wallet.


 

Following inquiries, at about 1pm the next day police attended a home on Adelaide Street and arrested a 38-year-old man.

 

He was taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with:

 

  • Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there.
  • Aggravated break and enter with intent-knowing person there.
  • Two counts of break and enter dwelling-house with intent.

 

The man was refused bail and appeared at Bourke Local Court today, where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Thursday 24 October 2024.
