A man has been charged with domestic-related murder in Bourke after a woman's body was found in October.

The 49-year-old man had been arrested Tuesday 29 October shortly after the 47-year-old's body was found at a Parkdale Street home at about 8am.

Police will allege in court the man seriously assaulted the 47-year-old woman prior to her death.

"Following the forensic analysis of items seized during the investigation and the results of the post-mortem examination, detectives spoke to the 49-year-old man at a correctional facility at Sydney yesterday before charging him with murder (DV)," a police spokesperson said.

That man remains in custody until his appearance in court on 23 January 2025.

Police had also charged the man on Wednesday 6 October with wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (domestic).

He was refused bail after appearing in Bourke Local Court and remanded in custody to appear in Bourke Local Court on Thursday 23 January 2025.
