Man in court today over Bourke stabbing

A man is in custody after another man was allegedly stabbed in Bourke on Friday evening.


Emergency services were called to a home on Harris Street, Bourke, just after 7pm on Friday 12 December, following reports of an alleged stabbing.



On arrival, officers attached to Central North Police District were told a 30-year-old man was stabbed by another man known to him.


The man was taken to Bourke Hospital for further treatment of stab wounds to his back.


A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.


At about 4.30pm yesterday (Saturday 13 December 2025), police arrested a 27-year-old man on Tudor Street, Bourke.


He was taken to Bourke Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding (DV) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.


He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Sunday 14 December 2025).
