A man has been charged over the alleged assault of a woman in Nyngan yesterday morning.
Police have been told a 25-year-old man entered the front yard of a home on Cuthundril Street, Nyngan at about 11.45am on Saturday 18 February 2023.
When the man was asked to leave by the occupant of the home, he allegedly became aggressive and punched a 54-year-old woman in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.
It has been alleged that he continued to punch and kick the woman before leaving the location.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were called and the woman was treated at the scene for facial injuries.
Officers attached to Central North Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, they arrested a 25-year-old man at a home on Wambiana Street, Nyngan at about 4.45pm yesterday afternoon.
He was taken to Nyngan Police Station where he was charged with grievous bodily harm by unlawful act, assault police officer in execution of duty and intimidate police officer in execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Sunday 19 February 2023).
