Police have appealed for public assistance following an alleged theft of firearms and motorbikes from a property on the Golden Highway.

A police spokesperson said officers began an investigation after reports that a number of firearms and unregistered motorbikes were taken from the property in the Uabry area, about 33 kilometres east of Dunedoo, between 3pm on Saturday 26 July and 3pm on Sunday 27 July.

"Police were told nine rifles, five unregistered motorbikes, two compound bows, power tools, knives, and hunting gear were stolen from a shed on the property," the spokesperson said.

"Following inquiries police recovered two motorbikes near the property."
