Police appeal for information following man's death in Bourke yesterdayPolice have established a crime scene in Adelaide Street, Bourke where the man was found yesterday.

Investigations are underway after a man died in hospital after being found unconscious in Bourke yesterday, Saturday 1 March.


About 4.20am on Saturday, officers from Central North Police District were called to Adelaide Street following reports of a concern for the welfare of a man after he was located unconscious on the street.


The man was taken to hospital; however, he could not be revived.



While he is yet to be formally identified, the man is believed to be aged in his 60s.


A crime scene was established which is being forensically examined, and investigations into the man’s death have commenced.


Initial inquiries have led police to believe he may have been in the vicinity of Culgoa Street, Bourke, prior to being located on Adelaide Street.


As inquiries into the man’s death continue, police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information on the man’s movements prior to the incident to come forward and contact local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
