Police say they are undertaking investigations following a "suspicious" house fire in Pilliga over the weekend.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to Dangar Street at around 9:20pm on Saturday 8 November.

They said Rural Fire Service (RFS) and Fire and Rescue crews arrived to find the home well alight.

The house was destroyed.

"The home was unoccupied at the time and there have been no reports of injury," the spokesperson said.

"Officers attached to Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the blaze."

Vision shared on social media shows flames rising out of a collapsed building near overhead powerlines.

It also shows at least six emergency vehicles on scene with their lights on.

The Western Plains App understands the family who owned the house escaped but that their home was razed to the ground.

Investigations are continuing.
