Police seek public aid in finding missing Lightning Ridge manPolice are seeking information from the public to aid in their search for a man reported missing from Lightning Ridge on Wednesday.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man reported missing from the Walgett shire earlier this week.


Michael Theris, aged 61, was last seen about 2.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 20 July 2022), on Kaolin Street, Lightning Ridge.


When he could not be contacted, family reported Mr Theris missing to officers attached to Central North Police District, who commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.


Family and police hold concerns for Mr Theris' welfare, as he requires regular medication.


He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with grey hair, and was last seen wearing a blue jumper and jeans. A supplied image of Mr Theris can be seen below.



It is understood from communications with a family member that Mr Theris was intending to travel by car from Lightning Ridge to Brewarrina in a white Ford Territory, bearing NSW plates XU1013.
