Six injured in two-car collisionTwo-vehicle crash in Tullibigeal reminds drivers to remain vigilant on rural roads.

Six people have been left injured as the result of a two-vehicle crash in Tullibigeal yesterday morning.

Multiple NSW Ambulance road crews and two Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopters attended the scene of the accident on Wyalong Road, where two cars collided at around 8am yesterday morning.

Three of the patients were airlifted to hospitals while the remaining patients were assessed and treated at the Griffith Base Hospital.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Craig Parsons said that multiple emergency services were needed to assist passengers.

“This was a very chaotic scene to attend due to the number of patients requiring treatment for a variety of injuries,” Inspector Parsons said.

“Paramedics worked with Fire and Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service to safely extricate one of the patients from a vehicle who was initially trapped,” he said.

The airlifted passengers included a woman in her 80s who was treated for injuries to her legs (airlifted to Canberra Hospital), a young girl treated for a head laceration (airlifted to Orange Hospital), and a woman in her 30s treated for chest injuries (airlifted to Orange Hospital).

The passengers taken to Griffith Base Hospital include a man in his 80s who was treated for ribs and pelvic injuries, a man in his 30s treated for neck, leg, chest and shoulder injuries, and a young boy who was assessed before being taken to hospital.

“This is a timely reminder to remain vigilant on the roads, especially in the lead up to school holidays,” Inspector Parsons said.

At the current time of reporting, there are no further updates on the status of the patients’ injuries.
