Police have charged three women following a brawl in Coonamble on Sunday that left three constables with minor injuries.
Officers were called to Ross Street around 9:25am on 9 June after reports of a fight.
"Upon arrival, police observed 12 people around two women fighting on the roadway. Police broke up the fight and arrested an 18-year-old woman," a police spokesperson said.
"A 22-year-old woman was given a move-on direction and when she allegedly failed to comply, was arrested following a brief struggle.
"During the arrests a 23-year-old woman allegedly assaulted a senior constable.
"During the arrests three senior constables received minor injuries."
The 18 and 22-year-old women were taken to Coonamble Police Station where both were charged with affray. The 22-year-old was also charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and failing to comply with the move-on direction.
Police later attended a Ross Street home at about 3:05pm that day, where they arrested the 23-year-old.
She was charged with assaulting a police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, and two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
All three women were given conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
