Aeris Tritton gave a public health notice for people with older-style heart implants near the Murrawombie mine from 16 December to 21 December.

The copper mine is carrying out electromagnetic work and cautions people with older-style heart implants traveling along the Yarrandale and Murrawombie Road to stay clear of the monitored zones.

Symptoms can include among others dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or heart palpitations.

Work will take place during the day time and there are signs in place advising of the public health notice.

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) can cause an interruption of another electronic device within its proximity.

It can either disrupt the function of a pacemaker, cause irregular heart rhythm, or interfere with a pulmonary artery sensor reading.

Due to the variety of heart implant devices, patients are encouraged to speak to their doctor for more information.

Aeris Tritton conducts electromagnetic work every year and issues a public health notice annually.

Bogan Shire Council is helping to spread the word to ensure people who may be affected can avoid the area during this week.
