Two injured after rollover near Burren Junction

Two men were taken to hospital on Tuesday 2 December after a utility rolled just north of Burren Junction.

The NSW Police Media Unit said that a Toyota LandCruiser was approaching the Kamilaroi Highway on Merrywinebone Road when it reportedly swerved to avoid a kangaroo and lost control.

NSW Ambulance say they received the callout to the incident at around 10:15pm and treated one man in his twenties for multiple injuries, including to his head and limbs.

He was taken by road to Wee Waa, where the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service say he was stabilised and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

A second man in his twenties was taken to hospital in Narrabri for head injuries and abrasions to his arms and legs.
