A man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant has been arrested and charged in Coonabarabran today (Thursday 26 January).

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District conducted inquiries into the whereabouts of 31-year-old Sean Alonti, also known as Sean Biles.

The man was wanted for escaping police custody, domestic-related assault and breach of bail.

When he could not be located Police called for public assistance earlier today, community members not to approach him but to call 000.

Following extensive inquiries the man was sighted by police entering a unit block on John Street, Coonabarabran at about 8.25 this morning.

A perimeter was established, with assistance from Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Western Region High Risk Domestic Violence team, and the man was arrested without incident about 10.15am.

He was taken to Coonabarabran Police Station and the two outstanding warrants were executed.

The man was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court tomorrow (Friday 27 January 2023).
