The disposal of the tyre bank has been ongoing since the start of June after which the reconstruction and sand to make the bank resemble a beach.

"The facility has become a well-known and highly regarded free camping area for travellers that will provide recreation and economic benefit to our community for many years to come," Lachlan Shire General Manager Greg Tory said.

The Lachlan Shire Council manages the free camping area located at the lake.

"It is a valued space with locals and visitors enjoying the lakeside environment and water activities it provides," Mr Tory said.

Visitors come to the lake to bird watch, water ski, and picnic as well.

"Most of the visitors go out and free camp but it's great for the community so we're happy with it," Riverview Caravan Park manager, Wendy Bevis said.

"They've done a lovely job with it. It's a great spot to camp."

Ms Bevis has been living in Condoblin for the past three years.

She said the upgrades have raised the standards. "I heard before it was pretty average."

Further improvements over the course of the last five years, include a concrete pathway for walking and cycling, a new toilet, a barbeque, and picnic tables.
