A man has faced court charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter in Coonamble on Thursday morning.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called to a home on Wingadee Street, Coonamble, at about 5am Thursday 12 February following reports of a man armed with a knife.
Police were told the man was holding a large knife when he forced entry into the home via the back door.
He allegedly chased the resident – a man in his 40s – outside the home and inflicted a minor cut on the resident’s finger.
The unknown man then departed on a bicycle.
Following extensive inquiries, officers located a 23-year-old man on Limerick Street, Coonamble, at around 12.10am yesterday, Friday 13 February.
The man fled on foot before being arrested by police.
He was taken to Coonamble Police Station where he was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent – armed, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal).
He was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 later that same day.
