The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has warned of minor flooding in areas north of Bourke along the Warrego River.

The river level at Barringun is 2.86 metres and steady according to the latest update at 2:37 pm today, just above the minor flood level of 2.8 metres.

That is expected to fall by this evening, although the BOM says river level rises are likely later this week as further floodwater from Queensland arrives.

Multagoona Road may close at around 15 kilometres south of Enngonia, while roads, bridges and properties in low-lying areas may be affected.

"The current river level along the Warrego River at Enngonia is not available. It is estimated that the current river level is just above the minor flood level (two metres)," the update said.

"The Warrego River at Enngonia may fall below the minor flood level (2.00 metres) during Wednesday."

The river at Fords Bridge bywash is likely to reach the minor flood level of 1.70 metres from Tuesday.

Meanwhile on the Paroo River at Willara Crossing, the level is currently at 1.44 metre and rising slowly, above the minor flood level of 0.70 metre.

The level is likely to peak near 1.70 metre on Wednesday or Thursday.

The area could close to all vehicles including 4WDs, while roads, bridges and low-lying properties may also be affected.

The SES is advising to move farm equipment to higher ground, monitor river levels and stock up on essentials if you are likely to become isolated.
