A man reported missing from Lightning Ridge has been located after spending a cold night in the bush.

The 61-year-old man was last seen about 2.15pm on Wednesday 20 July 2022 on Kaolin Street, Lightning Ridge.

When he could not be contacted, family reported him missing to officers attached to Central North Police District, who commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Following inquiries, his vehicle was found on Narran Lake Road, about 50km north east of Brewarrina.

The man was then located in nearby bushland just before 3pm yesterday, Thursday 21 July 2022.

He has been taken to Brewarrina Hospital for treatment of exposure.
