A elderly driver has been hospitalised after his vehicle crashed into a Coonamble motel this afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called to the motel on the Castlereagh Highway just after 5pm today Friday 1 March.
The vehicle had entered the motel driveway before careening across a grassed area and crashing through a wall into the motel's dining room.
The building was unoccupied at the time.
The crash dislodged a structural beam but the roof did not collapse. The vehicle missed major electricals such as the airconditioning.
The driver was conscious when emergency services arrived, with no major injuries and was taken to Coonamble Multi Purpose Health Service.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
