New music single recorded in "secret" Warrumbungle studio Piperlaine duo, Benjamin Knight and Rebecca Voorn-Knight, recorded their latest single, Bloom, in a secret location near Warrumbungle National Park.

Blue Mountains singing duo, Piperlain recently recorded their latest single "Bloom" in a music studio near Warrumbungle National Park.

When asked about the secret studio location, singer Rebecca Voorn-Knight said it was the perfect place to get back to their organic sound.

"Our music producer, Paul Iannuzzelli moved from the city to near Coonabarabran during Covid," she explained. "I think he is one of a lot of people that headed west during the Covid period."

Mr Iannuzzelli grew up in Gilgandra so creating a studio locally was an easy decision.

"We followed Paul out there to record our single and it was an amazing place to, not only record, but to relax and unwind."

Formed by singer/songwriters Benjamin Knight and Rebecca Voorn-Knight, the Piperlain sound has been compared to a contemporary version of The Cranberries.

"We have worked with Paul as our producer for around eight years. Ben and I are married so are a duo in all senses of the word," Ms Voorn-Knight said.

"We have different music styles, though. Ben is more rock while I am a mix of folk, pop and country."

The Warrumbungle scenery features in the video clip of Bloom and Ms Voorn-Knight said, as lovers of the environment, the duo enjoyed being immersed in nature.

Bloom was written after the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. I was inspired by people moving away from the city to rural areas and stories about how people were slowing down, changing pace and reconnecting with what matters most to them," Ms Voorn-Knight said.

"The song is about people rediscovering something special in nature as well as perhaps something forgotten in themselves, and a reprioritisation of what’s important in life. It’s about taking a chance, starting a new life and creating a sustainable path."

Receiving positive praise from industry professionals and media outlets, Bloom follows the 2021 release of the EP "Time", which highlighted the breadth of the duo’s song-writing abilities.

In 2022, Time was nominated for an AIR award and Piperlain were an official entrant in the 2022 ARIA Awards.

Bloom is the first single from the upcoming EP "Shine on You" which will be released in February.
