Three charged over Bourke break-in

Three boys aged 11 and 12 and 19 have faced court in Bourke after they allegedly broke into a business on Oxley Street multiple times and stole more than 60 parcels.


Police allege the three broke in about 5.30pm on Saturday 25 May 2024.



"Once notified, officers from Central North Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident," a police spokesperson said.


"Following inquiries, about 12.15pm yesterday Monday 27 May 2024, police were patrolling Bourke when they sighted two boys aged – 12 and 19. The pair were arrested and taken to Bourke Police Station."


A short time later police went to a home and arrested the 11-year-old boy, who was also taken to Bourke Police Station.


The 11 and 12-year-old were each charged with aggravated break and enter into a dwelling with company. They were both refused bail to appear at a Children’s court today.


The 19-year-old was charged with breach of bail and aggravated entry into a dwelling in company with intent to steal. He was refused bail to appear at Bourke Local Court the same day.
