A man was taken to hospital on Friday 15 August after veering off the highway and crashing into Gulargambone's skate park.
It's not the first time a vehicle has ploughed into the park area.
In September 2022, a delivery truck from a Dubbo courier company smashed through the fencing and into the playground
A police spokesperson said emergency services were called at about 6:50am to Jack White Memorial Park opposite Ferguson's Store.
Officers arrived to find a white sedan had crashed into a pole at the park.
"The driver – and sole occupant – a 25-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a leg injury and taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition," the spokesperson said on the day of the crash.
"As inquiries continue, anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
The car left the highway while heading south towards Gilgandra and crashed through the northern side of the skate park fence before taking out two skate ramps and wrapping around a metal pole upholding a shade sail.
The white sedan collided with the northern end of the Gulargambone Skate Park. IMAGE SUPPLIED.
The collision knocked the pole onto an angle and left a sizeable dent at the base.
One of the fixed seats on either side of a table was also removed after the crash.
"That was my favorite side to sit on," a school student said at the scene when the times visited at around 5pm.
Coonamble Shire Council said on the day that the park would be closed until further notice.
There were no significant injuries reported at the time, although a witness said the driver appeared shocked.
