A man has been charged over a suspicious fire that disrupted power supply to Walgett's IGA last week.
Police say they arrested a 41-year-old man in the town at about 1:30pm on Monday 28 July before he was taken to the local station and charged with two counts of damaging property with fire.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Tuesday 29 July).
Emergency services were called to the supermarket at around 1am on Thursday 24 July after the man allegedly set fire to the store's garbage bins on the property's south-western corner.
The fire spread to a nearby wooden power pole and damaged a transponder, which cut off their main power supply.
He also allegedly lit a small hedge blaze nearby.
Local Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished both fires by around 2am.
The incident forced the supermarket to limit opening hours while running off a generator.
